7. hue, vietnam

Story by Jordon Cheung February 21st, 2016

bicycle rides

we arrived into hue around 9am after an all night train ride.

we immediately found some rental bicycles. my all time favorite way to explore a city is by bicycle. the freedom! strongest memory of hue was riding around, taking in the local spots.

we first started the early morning with a bowl of pho bo (beef noodles soup with clear beef broth, chili, shrimp paste, and slippery noodles) at the famous bun bo hue.

Bánh bèo

excuse the shitty photo. this meal was too good not to post.

banh bèo (literally water fern cake) are a bunch of small little steamed rice cakes with a variety of scrumptious fillings: fresh shrimp, scallions, shallots. high 5 to vietnam for keeping these little guys a secret - the culinary surprises of the country make for a real adventure of the taste buds.
